Wisecast offers a great platform where you can setup a podcast in a few quick minutes. Here's a step-by-step guide to making a podcast with Wisecast and getting it heard everywhere.
Once you create an account you will be taken to the main screen for shows, click on the "create new show" button on the top left side of the screen.
On the New Show screen you must first upload your podcast artwork. Ensure your file is between 1400 x 1400 and 3000 x 3000 pixels, JPG or PNG, in RGB color space. These specifications follow the criteria required on podcast platforms such as Apple, Spotify etc.
Choose the name of of your podcast, try to keep it 30 characters or less. The shorter and more succinct your the name of your podcast is the easier to market it.
Enter a description for your podcast, ensure that you pay close attention to the keywords being used to ensure you are optimizing SEO. Also ensure you create a description that has a maximum of 255 characters as some platforms have a character limit.
Enter the Author name that you wish to market the podcast under.
Select the category that you wish your podcast to be categorized under. Before you select a category, search other podcasts within your target segment to ensure your show fits in.
Many podcast platforms require authors to identify their podcast has having explicit content appropriate for audiences over the age of 18. Please ensure you slide the slider to explicit if you content should not be listened to by younger audiences.
Finally, select whether you are going to setup your podcast as an episodic podcast or a serial podcast. The key difference between episodic and serial podcasts are Episodic podcasts are for shows where you would like your listeners to listen to the latest episode of your content first. A good example of "episodic" podcasts are news and current affairs types of shows. Serial podcasts are shows in which your listeners are best to consume your podcast in a specific order of episodes, where you may have one or more series and each series has a specific order for the episodes.
